University scholarships in Italy 2026/2027: eligibility, applications and rankings

Look for amendments and notices issued after the initial PDF. Transfers, medical courses with special provisions, simultaneous enrolments and doctoral courses may have dedicated sections: do not automatically use the ordinary timetable.

Meeting both financial limits is necessary but not sufficient: check enrolment, benefit duration, previous qualifications, incompatible awards and academic progress. A low ISEE does not offset an ISPE above the threshold. For other bodies, read their own call, including provisions for disability or other categories.

Catania's call requires both independence conditions: residence outside the family home for at least two years in accommodation not owned by a family member, and adequate declared employment or equivalent income for at least two years, normally at least €9,000 per year. Ask the CAF to assess household rules involving separated parents, marriage or children.

ERSU Catania designated CAF UIL SPA to provide ISEE parificato calculations free of charge for applicants. Article 8 does not accept certificates from CAFs other than those identified by the body: use the official office list. This arrangement does not automatically apply elsewhere.

CFU means crediti formativi universitari, university credits. Check first-enrolment year, course, recognised credits and exam registration: do not automatically include unrecognised exams, abandoned courses or activities outside the eligible programme. Bonus credits are available only under the call's rules and do not mean that you have passed an exam.

The correction notice confirms the 2027 first-year dates. For errors in your academic record, ask your university registry to check and provide the evidence requested by the body. A document-completion deadline is not an extension for earning new credits.

This is a preparation checklist, not an official form. For countries with documentary difficulties, refugees or stateless applicants, read the body's dedicated provisions: do not replace a foreign certificate with an informal declaration on your own initiative. Upload personal documents only through the designated official channels.

At Catania, after the application deadline, correction of declared information and completion of documents are separate stages. Do not cancel an application expecting to resubmit it after the deadline: ask the body which procedure remains available for your case.

The Decree 772 window ran from 4 November 2026 at 20:00 to 6 November at 24:00, Italian time. No subsequent extension or further waiting-list update was found in the ERSU news and Notizie Residenze archive checked on 7 November. Check the body's updates before acting.

If you accepted on time, complete the documents specified in the notice: a passport-style photograph in your profile, and a valid identity document and medical certificate meeting the stated requirements in your Fascicolo. Attend your appointment for checks and final allocation; the notice provides for loss of the benefit if you do not meet the requirements.

After final allocation, take possession of your place at the residence immediately, except for La Giudecca's specific handover shown in the table. Failure to take possession by the deadline also leads to loss of the benefit under the notice.

International mobility has a separate provision: if you are already on a mobility programme when allocation takes place, send evidence to uo2@ersucatania.it before the scheduled date. The body may guarantee a place for up to two months from the remaining accommodation, only if available; this is not an extension of acceptance. If mobility starts after allocation, the notice provides for keeping a place, if available, but not the same room.

Applicants using SPID/CIE with no additional documents to supply do not need to complete this stage solely to upload identification. Article 16 also covers other categories with specific evidence: this international-student section does not exhaust all eligible cases. An exclusion for financial limits, academic progress or failure to apply is not automatically remedied by uploading a PDF.

For ERSU Catania, publication on 30 October replaces further individual outcome notices: do not wait for a letter. Keep the decision and your application note. If you believe there is an error, distinguish correcting information from challenging the decision.

Read the reason and gather relevant evidence: an on-time receipt, valid certificate, uploaded document or academic record. Ask the office which procedure applies, without assuming a support request reopens an expired deadline.

Article 17 of the ERSU call allows readmission where errors exist, through the body's own review or a reasoned request. It does not promise acceptance of every request or remove eligibility conditions. Article 18 separately provides for an appeal against a final refusal of benefits to TAR Catania, the regional administrative court, within 60 days of publication of the ranking.

Seek timely legal advice on the decision you can challenge, when the deadline starts and the appropriate remedy. Do not assume a support ticket or reconsideration request pauses appeal deadlines. For other bodies, check the specific decision rather than automatically applying Catania's procedure and deadlines.

Read your body's tables, separating the total scholarship value, cash component and value of meals or accommodation. Increases, reductions, an additional semester and incompatible benefits affect the result: a published maximum is not a guaranteed bank payment.

Failure to meet academic-progress or other conditions can lead to reduction, withdrawal and repayment of cash and service costs. If payment is missing, check your award, suspensions, enrolment, IBAN and payment notice before requesting assistance. Notices about the 2025/2026 balance do not establish a 2026/2027 payment.

ERSU Catania schedules the tenancy declaration from 30 November 2026 at 10:00 to 31 January 2027 at 14:00. The call requires the contract and proof of registration in the Fascicolo by 31 March 2027, with a specific exception for contracts subject to later renewal; check Article 23, duration and eligible conditions.

This procedure documents status for an existing benefit application: it does not open a new competition. Online acceptance for the 4 November housing update closed on 6 November 2026 at 24:00; those who accepted must still follow the notice's later requirements. The tenancy declaration and document completion on 30 November are separate procedures and do not reopen acceptance.
