Bonus mamme 2026: working mothers bonus and IVS relief

Choose the 2026 contribution, a 2025 claim or contribution relief; prepare your information and check the instructions for the right year.

Important information

Percorso Cittadino helps you understand Italian administrative procedures but does not replace public authorities. Before submitting applications or making decisions, always verify the official institutional links provided on this page.

If you work and have at least two children, Bonus mamme 2026 provides €60 for each eligible month or part-month, up to €720 for twelve months. Before preparing a claim, check your children's ages, personal income from work and contract type: with at least three children, permanent employment requires a different route.

As of 13 October 2026, the official sources consulted do not provide a verified announcement that Bonus mamme 2026 applications have opened. The Nuovo Bonus mamme service page still describes 2025: prepare your information and check INPS updates before submitting a 2026 application.

This guide helps you choose between the 2026 contribution, managing a 2025 claim and IVS contribution relief. These are different measures: reconsideration of an old claim and a payroll contribution reduction are not new applications for the €60 payment.

What to check first

2026 contribution
€60 per worker; maximum €720
Income
Personal work income: no more than €40,000 a year
Children
Two: through the second child's tenth-birthday month; at least three: through the youngest child's eighteenth-birthday month
Permanent employment
With at least three children: check IVS relief and contribution exclusions
2026 payment
Combined December payment under the law; individual crediting must be checked
2025 claim
€40 a month; reconsideration limited to previously claimed, rejected months

Section 1

Choose your route: 2026, a 2025 claim or IVS

Start with the year and type of support. Bonus mamme is used for both an INPS payment and contribution relief.

Preparing for the 2026 contribution

Check your work, children and income, then prepare a timeline. The sources consulted do not provide a verified announcement that 2026 claims have opened.

You already have a 2025 claim

Read the decision and monthly outcomes in your case. Reconsideration concerns rejected or partially accepted claims and has an individual deadline.

At least three children and permanent employment

Check IVS relief with your employer. The €60 contribution has specific conditions excluding periods that overlap with permanent employment.

Section 2

Compare the three measures

Amounts, claim years and channels are not interchangeable. Use this table to identify the right procedure.

Bonus mamme: payments and contribution relief
MeasureAmount and recipientPeriod and route
2026 contribution — Law 199/2025, paragraph 207€60 per eligible month or part-month; maximum €720 per worker, not per child. Personal work income up to €40,000.2026 months; combined payment in December. Opening of 2026 claims not verified in the sources consulted.
Nuovo Bonus mamme 2025 — Decree-Law 95/2025€40 a month, maximum €480. Rules and applications concern work in 2025.Ordinary deadlines of 9 December 2025 and, for specified cases, 31 January 2026 have passed. Manage the decision and any reconsideration within its deadline.
IVS relief — Law 213/2023, paragraph 180100% of the employee's IVS contributions, up to €3,000 a year apportioned monthly. At least three children and permanent employment; this measure has no €40,000 income threshold.Pay periods from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2026, through the youngest child's eighteenth-birthday month. Check with your employer; this is not a €720 INPS bank transfer.

Section 3

2026 contribution: work and eligible mothers

The contribution covers working mothers in public or private employment and self-employed mothers registered with compulsory pension schemes. Domestic employment is excluded.

  • This includes self-employed workers registered with professional pension funds under Legislative Decrees 509/1994 and 103/1996 and with INPS Gestione Separata.
  • Check the number and ages of your children, work during the relevant periods and annual personal income from work of no more than €40,000 together.
  • For mothers with two children, paragraph 207 does not generally exclude permanent contracts. With at least three children, the next section's specific conditions apply.
  • Do not automatically import nationality, residence, ISEE or document requirements from another benefit. Matters not resolved by the text consulted require specific instructions and INPS assistance.

Section 4

Children, birthdays and overlapping contracts

With two children, the age limit includes the month of your second child's tenth birthday. With at least three, it includes your youngest child's eighteenth-birthday month, subject to additional employment conditions.

For mothers with at least three children, paragraph 207 requires that work income does not arise from permanent employment. In addition, months or part-months of employment or self-employment must not coincide with periods when a permanent employment contract is in force.

If you combine self-employment and employment, or change contract during the year, prepare the exact dates. Having a partita IVA as well, or choosing not to use IVS relief, is not enough: the law concerns the contract and periods, not just whether you actually used the relief.

Section 5

€40,000 means your work income, not ISEE

The 2026 threshold is annual personal income from work of no more than €40,000. It is neither total household income nor the take-home salary paid into your account.

Exactly €40,000 is included. A low ISEE does not establish that you meet the threshold, and a high ISEE does not by itself exclude you. If you have several jobs, do not check each separately and conclude that you are below the limit.

The official sources consulted did not provide detailed 2026 instructions covering all income components, mixed activities or final checks. We do not automatically transfer the method, exclusions or declarations in Circular 139/2025 to the new year.

As practical preparation, collect available Certificazione Unica (CU) statements, contracts, payslips and self-employment income records. Ask INPS or your adviser which figures to use for 2026; a previous year's CU does not by itself establish income for the relevant year.

Section 6

€60 a month: estimating the contribution

For 2026, the contribution is €60 for each eligible month or part-month, up to €720 for twelve months. It is paid per worker, not per child.

Illustrative estimate after checking eligibility

12 eligible months × €60 = €720

5 eligible months × €60 = €300

This does not assess your entitlement. Do not multiply the amount by children, employers or parallel activities, or invent a daily rate for part-months.

Your second child turns ten in June

If you meet all other conditions and work from January, the age limit includes June: six months could amount to €360. Do not add July simply because your contract continues.

Three children and conversion to permanent employment

Record the conversion date and any overlapping activities. This example identifies the need to check IVS relief; it does not automatically establish which contribution months qualify.

Section 7

Tax, contributions, ISEE and Assegno unico

The 2026 contribution is not taxable or subject to social contributions and is excluded from ISEE. This treatment concerns the contribution, not all your earnings.

The INPS Assegno unico e universale (AUU) page explicitly states compatibility with Nuovo Bonus mamme. That passage does not specify the bonus year.

For the 2026 contribution, paragraph 207 does not introduce a ban on combining it with AUU and excludes the payment from ISEE. This is a conclusion drawn from the legislation consulted, separate from specific operational confirmation for 2026 applications. Each benefit retains its own requirements and application.

Coordination with IVS relief is different: for mothers with at least three children, the permanent-employment and overlapping-period conditions still apply. AUU compatibility does not mean that all measures called Bonus mamme can be combined.

Section 8

Combined payment in December 2026

Monthly entitlement and payment happen at different times. Paragraph 207 provides for January-to-November entitlements to be paid together in December, alongside settlement of December 2026.

€60 a month describes the amount for eligible periods; it does not mean a bank transfer every month of 2026. The €720 maximum assumes twelve accepted monthly entitlements.

December is the statutory timetable. It does not establish that your application has been accepted, that all months qualify or that your account will be credited on a particular day. Keep receipts and correspondence, and follow the INPS instructions for your claim year when available.

Section 9

2026 applications: what you can do now

As of 13 October 2026, the official sources consulted do not provide a verified announcement that Bonus mamme 2026 applications have opened. The Nuovo Bonus mamme service page still describes 2025: prepare your information and check INPS updates before submitting a 2026 application.

Preparation route

  1. Identify the measure and year

Separate the 2026 contribution, IVS relief and a 2025 claim. Recording this avoids changing an old application when you are looking for the new bonus.

  2. Prepare a timeline

Collect children's dates, employment and self-employment periods, contract conversions and overlaps, together with information needed to check personal income.

  3. Check the relevant INPS announcement

Look for a message or announcement explicitly identifying the €60 contribution, year 2026, opening, instructions and deadlines. If the page still describes 2025, ask INPS or a patronato for guidance.

  4. After an officially announced opening

Use the channels and documents specified in the 2026 instructions, check the year in the form and keep the submission receipt. A draft or assistance enquiry is not a submitted claim.

Section 10

A reusable checklist

This is practical preparation, not an official list of compulsory attachments for the 2026 application: availability of those instructions has not been verified.

Information to have ready

  • Measure and year: 2026 contribution, 2025 claim or IVS relief.
  • Children's personal details and codici fiscali; birth dates and, where relevant, adoption or fostering documents to have assessed.
  • Work timeline: start and end dates, fixed-term/permanent contracts, conversions and self-employment, including pension scheme or professional fund.
  • Available CU statements, payslips and self-employment income information to prepare the personal work-income check.
  • Working personal INPS access and current contact details; do not share passwords, PINs or one-time codes with anyone assisting you.
  • Payment details to check against the applicable service and instructions; do not assume that the IBAN in an old claim will be reused.

For 2025 reconsideration: official instructions

  • Decision and receipt date; outcome and reason for each month in Ricevute e provvedimenti.
  • Reasons for reconsideration, which must be entered, and any supporting documents relating only to previously claimed and rejected months.
  • Check the 30-day deadline and the single-request limit: prepare all corrections before submitting.

Section 11

2025 bonus: decision and reconsideration

The 2025 bonus was €40 a month, up to €480. Reconsideration released on 2 April 2026 concerns rejected or partially accepted 2025 claims; it is neither a general reopening nor the 2026 application.

Ordinary deadlines were 9 December 2025 and, in specified cases where requirements were met later within 2025, 31 January 2026. Supplementary applications for omitted months also closed on 31 January 2026. These deadlines have passed.

For a claim marked Respinta, you can request reconsideration of the whole application. For Accolta, Erogazione in corso or Conclusa, reconsideration is limited to months included in the application for which the bonus was not recognised.

Only one reconsideration request is allowed for rejected months. Submit within 30 days of receiving the rejection or partial-acceptance decision, or publication of the message on 2 April 2026 if later. The period does not start when you read this guide or restart whenever you log in.

If you have a 2025 claim and are still within the deadline

  1. Open the claim and read the decision

On INPS: Sostegni, Sussidi e Indennità → Per genitori → Vedi tutti i servizi → Nuovo Bonus mamme. Check Ricevute e provvedimenti, months and outcomes.

  2. Prepare reconsideration for permitted months

Correct information and work records only for months already claimed and rejected. Enter your reasons and attach any supporting documents; the reasons can also flag errors in children's personal details.

  3. Submit the single request and keep the receipt

Use Chiedi riesame within the applicable deadline. If the button is missing or the deadline has passed, ask INPS or a patronato to check the case; this guide does not document an extension or an alternative procedure.

Section 12

IVS relief: three children and permanent employment

The separate relief introduced by the 2024 Budget Law covers 100% of the worker's IVS contributions up to €3,000 a year, apportioned monthly. In 2026 it concerns permanently employed mothers with at least three children; domestic work is excluded.

IVS stands for invalidità, vecchiaia e superstiti: disability, old-age and survivors' pension contributions. The relief concerns contributions paid by you; it is not a fixed €3,000 payment or a guaranteed net-pay increase of that amount.

The measure covers pay periods from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2026, through the month of the youngest child's eighteenth birthday. The two-child experiment applied only in 2024 and has ended; do not extend it to 2026.

Message 401/2025 includes meeting the third-child condition through birth, fostering or adoption in 2025–2026, from the event month where a permanent contract exists. The €40,000 threshold for the €60 contribution is not a condition of this full relief.

Contact HR or your employer to check your children, contract and payslip treatment. Provide information through company channels and ask them to investigate omissions; involve INPS or a patronato for particular circumstances.

Section 13

Partial contribution relief postponed to 2027

Paragraph 206 of Law 199/2025 postpones the partial relief under paragraph 219 of the 2025 Budget Law from 2026 to 2027. It is separate from full IVS relief, which remains provided for through 31 December 2026.

Paragraph 206 also changes the second sentence and removes the third sentence of paragraph 219. Do not use January/February 2025 press releases about the start of partial relief to describe it as operating in 2026.

Targeted searches of official sources did not identify subsequent amendments changing this postponement. A consolidated Normattiva text was not obtained: this limit is documented, and no 2027 rates, procedures or applications are invented.

Section 15

Frequently asked questions

These answers keep claim years, payments and contribution relief separate. They do not replace checking your circumstances.

Are Bonus mamme 2026 applications open?

As of 13 October 2026, the official sources consulted do not provide a verified announcement that Bonus mamme 2026 applications have opened. The Nuovo Bonus mamme service page still describes 2025: prepare your information and check INPS updates before submitting a 2026 application.

The law requires an application, but that does not establish that the service is accepting claims for 2026. Do not use the 2025 deadlines for 2026.

Is the €60 paid for each child?

No. It is paid per worker for each eligible month or part-month in 2026, up to €720 for twelve months. Do not multiply it by the number of children or jobs.

Am I excluded if I have two children and a permanent contract?

Paragraph 207 does not apply the permanent-employment exclusion for mothers of at least three children to mothers of two children. You still need to check your work, personal income and the age limit, which includes the month of your second child's tenth birthday.

Do I need an ISEE below €40,000?

For the 2026 contribution, the threshold concerns your annual personal income from work, not ISEE or household income. Exactly €40,000 is included. Do not compare it with take-home pay; the sources consulted did not provide detailed 2026 calculation instructions.

Can I combine the bonus and IVS relief if I have three children and also work for myself?

Do not assume that you can claim both for the same periods. Paragraph 207 requires that work income does not arise from permanent employment and excludes periods overlapping with such a contract. Ask INPS or a patronato to check your contracts and overlapping dates.

Does Assegno unico prevent me from receiving Bonus mamme?

The INPS AUU page explicitly states compatibility with Nuovo Bonus mamme, without specifying the bonus year in that passage. For the 2026 contribution, paragraph 207 does not introduce an AUU accumulation ban and excludes the payment from ISEE: this is an interpretation of the legislation, separate from specific 2026 operational instructions. Applications remain separate.

Does December 2026 guarantee when my bank account will be credited?

The law provides for January-to-November entitlements to be paid together in December, alongside settlement of the December entitlement. This is the statutory timetable, not confirmation that your claim has been accepted or a guaranteed bank-payment date.

Can a 2025 reconsideration request add months I never claimed?

No. Message 1187/2026 concerns months already included in the application but not accepted. Only one request is allowed, within 30 days of receiving the rejection or partial-acceptance decision, or publication of the message on 2 April 2026 if later. Supplementary claims for previously unclaimed months closed on 31 January 2026.
