INPS Family Portal: how to find benefits, nurseries and services

Start with what you need: find local services, check family benefits and reach the official application service.

Important information

Percorso Cittadino helps you understand Italian administrative procedures but does not replace public authorities. Before submitting applications or making decisions, always verify the official institutional links provided on this page.

Are you looking for a nursery, a service for your family or where to apply for a benefit? The INPS Portale della Famiglia e della Genitorialità brings together useful information and links. Start with what you need: a local service, financial support or a particular welfare scheme.

This guide helps you reach the service responsible. Finding a nursery does not reserve a place; reading about a benefit does not establish your eligibility or submit an application. Before you submit anything, check the instructions for the service you have chosen.

Section 1

What you need and where to go

Use this table to choose your first check before starting an application.

The portal organises information around pregnancy, birth, adoption and fostering, your child's growth and disability. The Servizi di altri enti section also points you to the authorities responsible for administrative, health, social and school services.

Personalised features may suggest benefits you could be eligible for and link to benefit simulators. A suggestion or a simulation does not confirm an entitlement: always check the benefit page.

Section 2

How to access the INPS Family Portal with CIE or SPID

Start from the official page for the Portale della Famiglia e della Genitorialità.

  1. Open the INPS page

Use the official link below and follow its link to the service. Check that you are on the INPS website before entering your credentials.

  2. Choose your digital identity

The documented options are SPID level 2 or higher, Carta d'identità elettronica (CIE) 3.0, Carta nazionale dei servizi (CNS), and eIDAS, the European system for cross-border electronic identification.

  3. Find the area you need

After signing in, look for the area relevant to your need. At this stage, your aim is to find the right information and link, rather than submit an application.

These access methods are described in public INPS sources. We have not tested the pages available after signing in: controls, suggested information and available content may depend on your session. If you have problems with your credentials, use the SPID and CIE guides. Do not share passwords or confirmation codes.

Section 3

Find authorised nurseries with Servizi vicino a me

The search helps you locate early years services for children up to three years old.

INPS describes a search for authorised nurseries and educational services in Servizi vicino a me. Local data is added progressively, so use a result as the starting point for contacting the service.

Before choosing a nursery, ask

  • What authorisation does it hold, and which office can confirm it?
  • Does it accept children of your child's age, and are places available for the period you need?
  • How do you apply for a place? Are there waiting lists, local eligibility rules and separate deadlines?
  • What are the fees and opening calendar, and what documents will it issue for your expenses?

Section 4

Find a family centre in your province

Locate a Centro per la famiglia and contact it to find out what support it offers.

You can use the local search for Centri per la famiglia and the public map provided by the Dipartimento per le politiche della famiglia, the Department for Family Policies. These centres support families and parenting; the activities available depend on the local service.

  1. Find your local area

On the Department's public map, you can search by name, municipality, province or keyword. Check any available contact details with the centre or municipality. If you find no results, ask which local service to contact.

  2. Explain what you need

Ask whether the centre offers the service you need and who can use it. Do not assume that every centre provides the same activities.

  3. Agree on the next step

Check appointments, opening hours, any access conditions and documents. Your aim is to make useful contact; this does not automatically open an INPS application.

A practical message you can adapt: ‘I live in [municipality] and need information about [your need]. Does your centre offer this service? How can I access it, and do I need an appointment? If you do not handle this, which office should I contact?’ Avoid sending sensitive documents until you know the correct channel.

Assegno unico, Bonus nido and Bonus nuovi nati: where to apply

Use these INPS benefit pages consulted for 2026 to find your next step. This table does not assess your individual eligibility.

Benefit and purposeHow ISEE is usedThe service responsible
Assegno unico e universale (AUU): support for dependent children, subject to its conditions.ISEE affects the amount. You can also apply without an ISEE and receive the minimum amount if you meet the other requirements.INPS Assegno unico page → dedicated service. The page also lists patronati and the Contact Center.
Bonus asilo nido: help with nursery fees; home support in the cases covered by the scheme. For 2026, the ISEE for specific family and inclusion benefits applicable to the child is used, with AUU excluded from the calculation. A minimum amount is available without an ISEE.Bonus asilo nido page → Bonus asilo nido e supporto domiciliare - Domanda, or a patronato.
Bonus nuovi nati: a payment for a birth, adoption or placement for adoption.ISEE is an eligibility requirement. Check the indicator applicable to the child, the exclusion of AUU and the threshold for the relevant year.Bonus nuovi nati page → the service for the year of the event. The Contact Center and patronati are also listed.
Congedo parentale for employees: optional parental leave and the related allowance. The page refers to employment, earnings and, for some periods, individual income. Do not confuse this with household ISEE.INPS page for employees → Domande di maternità e paternità. Check your employment category and what you must notify to your employer.

ISEE stands for Indicatore della Situazione Economica Equivalente and measures your household's financial circumstances. You obtain it by submitting the Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Unica (DSU), a declaration of household information. Submitting a DSU does not also submit a benefit application. Before using an ISEE certificate, check that it is the type required for the benefit.

For Bonus nido, prepare the required expense and payment documents for the relevant months. For Bonus nuovi nati, check the deadline linked to the date of the event promptly. This guide does not reproduce annual amounts or deadlines: open the current benefit page instead of relying on a news item from an earlier year.

Section 6

INPS welfare schemes in Bambina/o in crescita

First check the fund and the beneficiaries covered by each call for applications.

The INPS announcement places information about welfare calls in Bambina/o in crescita. It names three funds: Gestione Unitaria delle prestazioni creditizie e sociali, Gestione Assistenza Magistrale and Gestione Postelegrafonici. Keep these Italian names to check which one a call refers to.

  • Open the call, or bando, for the year and scheme you are interested in.
  • Check who must belong to the fund and their required relationship to the beneficiary.
  • Read the eligible groups, requirements, any ISEE conditions, documents and deadlines.
  • Use the application service named in the call and keep the communications provided.

Section 7

Statistical observatories: information about benefits

Aggregate figures describe a wider picture, not your own application.

The Osservatori statistici provide data on benefits. Before comparing figures, check the period, area, population and unit of measurement.

A beneficiary count or average payment does not establish your entitlement, application approval or payment. Use the service handling your application and your INPS communications for those checks.

Section 8

From reading information to submitting an application

Check which step you have completed: filling in a form, submitting it, its status and its outcome mean different things.

  1. Read the benefit page

Check its purpose, eligible groups, year, requirements and deadlines. If your situation is unclear, ask INPS or a patronato before submitting.

  2. Open the dedicated service

On the benefit page, use Utilizza il servizio and choose the relevant procedure. For welfare calls and local services, follow the channel specified by the authority responsible.

  3. Complete and check the form

Provide the requested details and attachments. Review the applicant, child, period, contact information and payment details where required. Saving a draft is not the same as submitting it.

  4. Submit and keep your confirmation

Complete the confirmation step required by the service. Save the receipt, protocol number or application reference when available. If you cannot find confirmation, check the status before submitting a duplicate.

  5. Follow your application

Check its status, requests for further documents and outcome in the relevant service. Submitted, being processed, approved and paid are different stages.

Section 9

Checklist before you start

Practical pointers from our editorial team: the documents you need depend on the benefit.

To sign in

  • An active digital identity accepted by the service that you can use.
  • The device, app, codes or reader required by your chosen method, following its official instructions.
  • The link to the official INPS portal or benefit page.

Only if the particular application requires them

  • Applicant and child details, including their codici fiscali, or Italian tax codes.
  • A valid ISEE of the required type; check for omissions or discrepancies.
  • Birth, adoption or fostering dates and the relevant documents.
  • For a nursery, its details and records of fees and payments.
  • Any medical documents for home support, as specified by INPS.
  • Payment details, fund membership or other attachments expressly required.
  • Receipts or references for previous applications if you are following up an existing case.

You do not need to collect every item on this list to explore the portal. Do not send documents to Percorso Cittadino: this website does not collect attachments or submit applications on your behalf.

Section 10

Three illustrative routes

Examples prepared by our editorial team; these are not real cases or guaranteed outcomes.

You need a nursery near work

You find a nursery in a useful location and ask about places and enrolment. You then check the Bonus nido page separately. Finding a nursery does not reserve a place or start a benefit application.

You are looking for parenting support

You find a centre in your province, check any published contact details and ask whether it offers the support you need. You arrange contact without assuming that services are identical everywhere.

You want information after a birth

You read the Bonus nuovi nati page and check the year of the event, ISEE and the applicable deadline. If you meet the conditions, you go to the dedicated service. Reading the information alone does not submit your application.

Section 11

Common problems and official help

Identify whether your problem concerns your digital identity, local information or a benefit.

ProblemWhat to check and do next
You cannot sign in with SPID or CIEFollow the official identity recovery procedure and our dedicated guides. Note the error message; do not share PINs, PUKs or passwords.
A nursery or centre is missing, or its details differCheck its name and location; ask the municipality or service for confirmation. Do not use the map to establish authorisation.
You are unsure which benefit appliesGive INPS or a patronato the benefit name and your specific question. The portal does not certify your personal entitlement.
You cannot find confirmation of submissionCheck the dedicated service and any reference numbers. Ask for help before creating a duplicate application.
A page or service will not openTry again from the official INPS page and note the service, date and problem. If a deadline is close, check the alternative channels specified for that benefit.

INPS Risponde lets you ask about services and applications. You can call the Contact Center on 803 164 from an Italian landline free of charge, or 06 164 164 from a mobile at your operator's rate. To discuss personal information, you may need an INPS telephone PIN: this is different from your CIE PIN.

For nursery places, enrolment or activities at a family centre, contact the municipality or local service. A patronato can help with applications where the benefit page lists that channel; check the particular benefit.

Section 12

INPS Family Portal questions

Answers to help you choose your next step.

Can I use the INPS Family Portal without SPID?

Yes. INPS also lists CIE 3.0, CNS and eIDAS as ways to sign in. If you use SPID, you need level 2 or higher. Choose an identity you already have and follow that system's official instructions.

If a nursery is missing from the map, is it excluded from Bonus asilo nido?

Its absence from the map does not establish this: local data is updated progressively. Ask the municipality or nursery about its authorisation and check the benefit conditions with INPS. The map does not replace these checks.

Can I apply for Bonus nido through the Family Portal?

You can find information and reach the relevant service. You submit your application through the INPS service Bonus asilo nido e supporto domiciliare, linked from the benefit page, or through a patronato, an assistance organisation. Reading a benefit page or finding a nursery does not submit an application.

Do I need an ISEE to enter the portal?

You sign in to the portal with a digital identity. ISEE, the Indicatore della Situazione Economica Equivalente, is an indicator of your household's financial circumstances used for some benefits or their calculation. Check the required type, validity and rules on the page for the benefit you choose.

Are the welfare schemes open to every family?

No. The area announced by INPS covers schemes linked to specific social security and welfare funds, called gestioni. Each call for applications sets out its beneficiaries, any ISEE requirement, documents and deadlines. Being a parent or being able to sign in to the portal is not enough.

What is the deadline for using the Family Portal?

There is no single deadline for all its functions. Check the separate deadlines for your benefit, welfare scheme or local enrolment procedure. A saved application that you have not submitted should not be treated as filed.

Section 13

Official sources and verification limits

Relevant passages of public pages consulted on 10 October 2026.

This guide uses public information from INPS and the Department for Family Policies. We have not explored personal accounts or submitted applications. The checklists, suggested questions and examples are practical tools prepared by our editorial team.

The announcement of 9 October refers to INPS messages 3164 and 3166 of 6 October 2026 and 3179 of 7 October 2026. Their links did not return the documents' text during our checks, so we do not treat them as documents read in full. The functions described here are limited to those confirmed in the other linked public pages.
